Jack was my son and daughter in law's neighbor. He was a very friendly neighbor to them and a very kind man to us too. He had a kind smile and was always ready to give a hand when needed. We are sorry we can't be present but we only heard the sad news today from our son, Sam, and we are in Europe. God be with Jack and his family. Our prayers go out to you all, especially to Marie and family. Our condolences.

What a wonderfull role model for our children! Jack was always there, in his quiet and gentle way, looking after us and the neighbourhood for the 20 years we have had the pleasure to know and love him. He gave us so much valuable advice along the way, and supported us in our many house projects. Until we could afford our own snowblower, he cleared our driveway pad after every snowstorm, so we could get to work on time. He even took special notice of our daughters as they grew up, encouraging them in their studies. When they were young, Jack kept an extra eye on them, too, that they were always safe: ' Yes, Kathy, she can climb the new fence, but she is careful in the lane when she's getting the ball'. Jack was, and always will be, the Dad of the neighbourhood. We will miss his smiling face, popping into our house. Love and prayers go out to Jack and Marie.

We have thought of you all so often during the past months. We always left any encounter with Jack (and Marie) with a smile on our faces. Jack was an amazing role model for his wonderful family and leaves a legacy of a life lived with love, joy, mission, and a genuine caring for others. We will still be in Halifax on Friday, but please know that we will be with you in prayer as you gather together at Jack’s Celebration of Life.

Our hearts are broken too. No one loved his girls and grandchildren as much as Jack. He was a talented and wise man who will be missed by all. We are just thankful we had the opportunity to know him and experience the love this family shares.

Our first contact with Jack Falk and another neighbours, Art and Joyce was a cleared driveway the day we moved into our house, the day of a huge snowstorm. Jack and Marie and family have continued to be fun, welcoming, and caring neighbours, the ideal of neighbours and family. Our hearts go out to you as we bear the good fortune of having known Jack and continuing to be neighbour to Marie. Love, Trish, Sam, Miguel, Ana and Shadow.

I only knew Jack for a few years but was impressed immediately by his professionalism, and attention to detail. He was a quiet man, respectful, skilled, and caring. I came to enjoy his quick smile and to have complete faith in his word and committment to doing a good job. Over time we shared information about our families and when I met Marie, I understood exactly why Jack was so proud of her, as he was of his family. I will miss him but he is present in my home in the wonderful work he completed here and will always be remembered. My condolences to Marie and the family. I know he will leave a hole in the fabric of your lives.
