James Butler

October 4, 1927 - July 29, 2015

JAMES THOMAS BUTLER
1927 – 2015
It is with great sorrow that the family of James Butler announces his passing, on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Charleswood Care Centre, at the age of 87 years.
Left to lovingly remember Jim are his sister, Muriel Laing; brother Norman Butler; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Annie Butler; brothers, Albert and Gordon; sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Bob Baverstock; sister-in-law Rowena Butler; and his nephew Jim Butler.
Jim lived much of his life on what was once a farm in St. James. His brother Norman moved their parents, along with Albert, Jim and Gordon to the farm in about 1958. It is here Jim lived, surrounded by his family, joined later by Norman and Rowena, when they moved to the farm with their children, Linda, Norm, Jim and Ron. In later years Jim and Muriel shared the family home; a special time for them both.
Jim loved the outdoors; to help with the garden and animals on the farm, especially the cattle and horses. He also had a special interest in pigeons. In his youth Jim helped with the turkeys and chickens, and collecting eggs for his dad to be candled and sold. Wherever you would find his dad, you would be sure Jim would be close behind.
Jim had a great smile that would light up the room, always happy to see his family. He loved to talk about his favourite TV shows, Roy Rogers, Rifleman, Bonanza, John Wayne, Gene Autry, Gabby Hayes and so many more. Another love of Jim?s was country music and he was a huge fan of Wilf Carter, Johnny Cash, Little Jimmy Dickens, The Grand Ole Opry, the list just goes on and on. He will be terribly missed, and lovingly remembered by us all.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
??Til we meet again, Jimmer. We love you.?
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations may be made in Jim?s name to The Salvation Army, http://www.salvationarmy.ca/donate-now/.
