Obituaries

I am a long way away from Winnipeg, here in New Zealand so all I can do is send my love and condolences. Apart from being an incredibly generous host and provider on all our family trips to Canada and a lovely grandpa to our kids I am very grateful for the work that Jim and his brothers did to create the family book. This family history has given our kids, Rose, Rachel and Yana, the opportunity to know and treasure their family and heritage. It is such an important gift and we have been glad to make so many connections and happy memories with many of the people in it. To all of my family-in-law I am very sorry for your loss. I am glad you can be together to mark this turning of the family clock and remember Jim/dad/grandpa/great-grandpa - among other things: an anchor stone, a bargain hunter, a fixer, a movie maker, a corn-on-the-cob lover and a man who could dance the macarena with the grandkids and still fit into his red serge in his seventies.
