JANET SHIRLEY GEORGETTE LOVE

After a battle with emphysema and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, granny, aunt and friend, Shirley Love on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Victoria General Hospital ICU, at the age of 81 years.
Left to cherish Shirley?s memory are her son, Roy and his daughter Katelyn; daughter, Sharon (Ed) and their children Carol and Stephen; as well as numerous nieces. She was predeceased by parents, George and Sarah Haney; sister May (Russ) Conner; and brothers, Edward and Roy Haney.
On December 31, 1933, Shirley was born in Emo, Ontario. The family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. She later met her late husband of 50 years, Jim, at the Winnipeg Auditorium. They married on June 31, 1952. Shirley worked at Eaton?s for a number of years and became a stay at home mom. She did a lot of volunteering at Orioles Community Club, The Children?s Festival, The Winnipeg Folk Festival, and side-by-side at all events, even Mrs. Claus to Jim’s Santa.
A Celebration of Shirley?s Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Canad Inns, Polo Park, in the Playmaker?s Lounge, 1405 St. Matthews Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Respiratory and Emergency team, and the Victoria General Hospital ICU.
