JANICE JEAN GRAFF

Unexpectedly, after a very brief illness, Janice passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 59 years. In that moment she was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited once more with her loving parents whom she has missed so very much.   Left to mourn Janice’s passing are her two brothers, Jack (Jan) and Doug (Anne-Marie); two sisters, Dawn (Dennis) and Colleen (Burk); nephew, JD; as well as aunts, uncles and numerous cousins in both Canada and the United States. Also left to cherish her memory are her lifelong friends, Eileen, her daughters Anethea, Tonya, and their families. She also leaves behind her beloved cat and constant companion, Harry Hank. Knowing Janice is reunited with Mom and Dad brings peace and comfort to her family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Graff on September 28, 2013; her father, Jack Graff on July 2, 2015; and treasured dear friend, Jill Fitzsimmons on July 28, 2014.   On January 19, 1957 Janice was born in Winnipeg and has resided there all of her life.  She graduated from Tec Voc High School where she mastered the art of commercial baking. Janice designed and created many beautiful cakes and desserts out of her home for occasions such as anniversaries, bridal showers, and birthdays, for many family and friends. Shortly after graduation, she began employment as an assembler with Northern Telecom for 15 years. Janice then switched careers studying to become a health care aide. She worked part time as a health care aide in a nursing home before beginning full time employment at the Health Sciences Centre, where she worked up until her retirement in early 2016.   Janice loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid listener to John Aune each Sunday on the CFRY Sunday Request Show. She loved Old gospel music as well as the old country music songs. Janice was an avid Winnipeg Jets Hockey and Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football fan her entire life.   On Wednesday, October 12, 2016, Janice’s Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to the Service.   Janice’s cousin, Richard Wojcik of Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 1020 Main Street 204.586.8668 wojicksfuneralchapel.com, is in care of her arrangements.
