It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Janine Benson on September 4, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital, with her loving husband by her side
Janine grew up in Winnipeg, daughter of the late Armand and Marie (née Roy) Trudel and then travelled a better part of her early adult life to numerous Canadian provinces until she returned in 1976.
She is survived by Ron, her husband of 54 years, her brothers and sisters Denis Trudel (Olive), Ronald Trudel, Doris Cormier (Gérald), Lorraine Dacquay (Denis), Henri Trudel (Leslie), as well as sisters-in-law, Irene McNair of Blackfalds, AB and Loverne Fyfe of Saskatoon, SK. Janine leaves in her memory four godchildren that held a special place in her heart and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that she spoiled with personalized gifts with her amazing artistical talents.
Janine was predeceased by her sister, Cécile Lepage and brother-in-law Paul Lepage as well as her sister-in-law Jean Domstad of Thorsby, Alberta.
In addition to be a dedicated and loving wife, Janine was a very devout catholic. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God which she shared with her husband.
Since her retirement from administrative work, including a long career at Federated Insurance Inc., Janine continued her favorite pastime of sewing, bead work, various crafts and later on photoshopping. Her incredible talents can be seen in her nieces and nephews homes and later on in their children’s bedrooms.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 10:00 am with Father Mark Tarrant presiding at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Following the mass, the interment will take place at Fort Garry RC Cemetery, 826 Crescent Drive.
