Jeanne Deviaene (nee Englot)

February 17, 1926 - October 27, 2022

JEANNE (JENNIE) DEVIAENE
(NEE ENGLOT)

On Thursday, October 27, Jeanne passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 96. She was the matriarch of a large family, leaving to mourn her loss six surviving children: Barbara, Paul, Donna (Brent), Donald (Bonnie), Louis and Lorne. She also leaves a legacy of ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mom was herself a member of a large family, having ten siblings. She is survived by sisters Frances, Violet, Betty and Rosemary. Sadly, Mom was predeceased by her son Michael and husband Stephen.

Mom was born in Beausejour, Manitoba on February 17, 1926. She was very much a product of the times she grew up in. She left home at an early age to find work. She was thrifty, resilient and not just a little bit stubborn. That stubbornness surely kept her going through her health struggles over the last two decades. She was determined to live out her life in the family home and she was able to do this through the combined efforts of her children. Lorne became her primary care giver, having moved back home, and we are thankful to him for his care and support of Mom at the end of her life.

The last few months were a struggle for Mom. Now she can rest. A rest that is very well-deserved.

We will miss you Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma. Love your family.
