Jennie Bela Jones

Jennie Bela Jones of Winnipeg, Manitoba went home to be with the Lord, February 13, 2025. In His infinite mercy, her Savior took her quietly and peacefully while she slept, with family by her side.

Jennie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, James Jones.

Jennie spent her youth and formative years growing up in the west end of Winnipeg with her parents and younger brother. In her youth, Jennie was a bit of a tomboy and spoke fondly of the times she spent enjoying her adventures exploring West Kildonan Park.

Jennie grew up to be a beautiful young woman and caught the eye James Jones. Jennie and James became the love of one another’s lives and went on to marry in Winnipeg in 1956. Together they grew their life together and their family with the addition of 3 children, Joanne, Paula and Don. They later added to their immediate family by raising their grandson Michael.

Jennie and James were blessed to enjoy the growth of their family through their grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Tasha, Joshua and Jenna.

Jennie was an exceptional mother, grandmother and an amazing homemaker who gave all she had to her family. Jennie’s early years as a Mom were spent caring for her young children while honing her talents and gifts through her knitting, crocheting, baking, sewing, cooking, gardening and crafting. There was nothing Jennie did not do well. She always had a project on the go and her family enjoyed and appreciated all she created.

Jennie went on to build a small crafting business. She enjoyed fabricating and selling her creations at craft shows and to local specialty shops. Jennie was also an accomplished pianist and played for many years at our local church while living in North Kildonan.

Jennie was not only a wonderful mother, grandmother and wife, but a loyal and loved friend. Her long life blessed her with knowing and loving many along her path. She will be missed by many.

Jennie had a full and happy life. She lived through some tough times in her 91 years, but met all the challenges in her life path head on and took life in stride. There are so many gifts that will be missed, but her sense of humor is one that stands above the rest. For all those who knew and loved her, bask in the happy memories you made with her.

God’s love and grace has guaranteed Jennie will rest forever in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

At Jennie’s request, a family gathering will take the place of a memorial service and a private family Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Winnipeg.
