Growing up next door to the Muirheads was one of the highlights of my childhood. I spent many happy days visiting and enjoying the great hospitality. I am sorry I won't be able to attend the funeral but I believe Robert will be attending to pass along our condolences.

Such sad news received all the way down in New Zealand. We had the privilege of meeting Joe and Joie when they visited our southern Isles when they traveled here to visit their daughter Marnie. Our thoughts go out to his family, and especially Kathleen and Marnie, at this difficult time.

We are saddened to hear that a wonderful human being has passed on. We know that his family will dearly miss him. Luckily for us we were able to see Joe recently at our home for a family celebration. Joe was a kind, hard working family man who raised his children to be able, self sufficient adults. He will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry that you have lost Joe. I know that now you will have to live with only half a heart, as I do, because the other half is gone with your love. I will always remember Joe as a cheerful gentleman. God bless you and your family with peace. With love and sympathy, Mel.

As a young guy working for Sherritt in Lynn Lake in the 1960s, found Joe as a department head a man who took time to say a few things to you wherever he saw you.
