JOE BARANOWSKI
MARCH 10, 1950-DECEMCER 3, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe at the age of 71 years, after a lengthy battle with frontotemporal dementia. He leaves to mourn his wife Mary of 48 years; children Kim (Corey), Christopher (Jennifer); grandchildren Leah, Signy, Angelo, Ariana, Ava, and Colton. Left to cherish his memory is his brother Bill; sister-in-laws Joan (Ted), Donna and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father (Jan) and mother (Miroslawa); mother-in-law (Pauline), father-in law (Tadeusz); sister Lucy; brothers William and Raymond.

Joe was born in Dargobadz, Poland on March 10, 1950 and immigrated to Canada in 1964 with his family to live in Winnipeg. He married his high school sweetheart and went on to raise their two children together.

Joe worked at Canada Safeway as a bakery merchandiser and enjoyed his career until retirement. His second passion was coaching the White Eagles soccer club and his famous line was “no pressure boys, just win!” where he then became the president of the Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society.

Joe loved socializing and enjoyed family gatherings, he was the life of every party and most importantly he cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren. He will be forever missed for his vibrant personality and carefree spirit.

The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their compassionate care. Rest in peace our “nice guy Joe”.

Due to Covid restrictions a private mass will be held at Holy Ghost Church and live streamed Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
