JOHN GARRETT BRETT On Friday, July 6, 2012, John’s Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 59 Academy Road, Winnipeg. A private family interment will take place at a later date.Publish Date: Jul 7, 2012JOHN GARRETT BRETT It is with great sadness that we announce that John passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the age of 85 years. John will be greatly missed by his children, Debra (Robert), Craig (Karen); grandchildren, Sarah (Mark), and Jonathan; great-grandson Viiko; brothers Jeff and Paul; nieces, nephews as well as dear friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ada in 2006. John was a true gentleman, greeted everyone with a smile and kind word. He always saw the positive side of things. He was employed in accounting/sales with Motorways for 37 years until retiring in 1988. John was very active and physically fit throughout his entire life. He always enjoyed his annual fishing and hunting trips. Winemaking, tending the fruit trees in the yard and travelling were all activities he loved. John was a very faithful, active member of his church and sang tenor in the choir for many years. Spending time with his family and being a big part of their lives was always his greatest joy. On Friday, July 6, 2012 John’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 59 Academy Road, Winnipeg. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
