JOHN PARASZ

February 26, 1929 - December 20, 2014

JOHN WILLIAM PARASZ John William Parasz of Winnipeg, Manitoba drifted away from us on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Left to survive John are his children, Jayson Parasz, Serena Parasz (daughter-in-law), David Parasz (Toronto), and granddaughter, his little princess, Ava Parasz. John was born February 26, 1929 to the late Joseph and Annie Parasz in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At the age of 15 he started his adventures working for CP Rail. He did everything from working in the kitchen and dining carts, to setting up sleeping quarters, and even transporting WWII POW’s at the end of the war. John’s adventures on the trains took him all across North America. One of John’s favourite past times was pigeon racing. He was part of the North Winnipeg Flying Club. He took great joy in training and caring for his award winning birds. John had a very full life. Even with all his travels, Winnipeg was his home. He settled back here and worked for Burns Meats for over 40 years until his retirement in 1997. During his retirement he would enjoy winters in Mesa, Arizona. No formal Funeral Service will be held. John’s final resting place will be Elmwood Cemetery, where he played as a boy. We would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre. Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB 204.586.8668, in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com
