To Kathleen and family, John’s sisters and their families. John and I were school mates at PIne River School and Ethelbert Collegiate. I met you, Kathleen and John at a couple PR Socials in Winnipeg. While searching his name online I came across the article the Free Press wrote about Balloon Man John. A great story. His contributions to society and joy he brought to children is a wonderful legacy. His family will have wonderful memories to cherish. Patricia Soloway Wasylucha, Thorsby AB

We so loved that man. The entire volleyball gang are heartbroken. I always had to laugh when you would yell,"hit the ball John." Hugs to you and family. Linda Sloan and Jim Case.

Cathleen, I'm crushed to hear about John. He was one of my first Shift Officers at AECL, and it was always a pleasure working with him. In keeping up with you two on Facebook, it was obvious that retirement very much agreed with him, and that he was enjoying himself thoroughly, while keeping a lot of other people smiling all the time. He will be sorely missed. Profound sympathies from the both of us.

May god be with you and family in these difficult times. To think we met you both in Sunflower Resort in Surprise Az and to find out you were so close to us back home here in Manitoba. We enjoyed your company and we had good laughs. RIP John and god bless Cathleen and the family. Ray and Linda

John was always such a good sport and an incredible man to work with - no task was too big or too small. He was always willing to lend a hand and was so dependable. We enjoyed having him as part of our team in Rosetown and missed him so much when you made the big move back to Manitoba.
