JOSEPH EDMOND GASTON ANDRÉ LEBEAU

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Andy who died peacefully at home on December 04, 2024, at the age of 89 years.

Andy was born in Montreal, Quebec to Edmond LeBeau and Laurette Hamel. He was the eldest of 9 children. He spent his early years in the Montreal area while his father was away in the army. He was the eldest of a set of 3 pre-war siblings (Andy, Suzanne, Lise) After his father’s return, 3 more siblings were born within 5 years (Serge, Lucille, Jocelyne). Andy left home in 1954 and joined the Royal Canadian Airforce and then 3 more siblings arrived (Jean-Marc, Gaetan, Rene). He always had a closeness to his brothers and sisters even though he was separated from them by great distances.

During his military career, Andy was stationed in many provinces and in Europe, finally ending his career in Winnipeg in 1985. He was initially trained as a firefighter but ended his service in pay administration in the rank of Sergeant. Andy was always proud of his service to this country.

Andy was passionate about many things over the course of his life, but he remained passionate about spending time playing games with his family, hockey and politics to the end and often enjoyed instigating a lively discussion about these subjects.

Andy and Elenor enjoyed an amazing 47 years together. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife and their blended family, which includes his children:
Michele and Everett (Renee and Will-Thomas, Nicole, Leanne, Danielle and Chris-Luci, Eli)
Brett and Brenda (Marc and Alex, Amber and Taylor)
Dawn and Darren (Devon – Logan, Dustin – Jackson)
Shannon and Susan (Cody, Ashley and Robin – Isabelle, Kassidy, TJ – Brooklyn)
Lesli and Ron (Micheal, Davis)
