JOSEPH TERNOWSKI This morning, Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Divine Liturgy will be Celebrated in St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 590 Alverstone and Burnell, with Rev. Fr. Michael Krochak, presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.Publish Date: Jun 2, 2012JOSEPH TERNOWSKI Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, Joseph Ternowski passed away at the Poseidon Care Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 91 years. Joseph was born in Marco, Manitoba on December 20, 1920 to parents John and Magda (Dutkywich). He was only seven years old when his mother died. His dad remarried to Anne Kanuiga. Joseph leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Anne, of 65 years of marriage; son Arnold and wife Mariette; daughter Joann and son-in-law Emil Kowal; five grandchildren, Daryl, Lisa, Ian, Tami and Jason; six great-grandchildren, Nash, Luke, Elliott, Sydnee, Oksana, and Sasha; a step-great-granddaughter, Taylor; brothers Peter and Paul; and sister Ellen. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda 2011, his father John 1966, mother Magda 1927, stepmother Anne 2003, sister Anne Maskiew 2007, infant sister Katherine 1933, brother Steve 2012, sisters-in-law Angele and Eugenie Ternowski, and brother-in-law Harry Maskiew. Joe and Anne farmed in the Marco area until 1966. Dad enjoyed farming and the country life, but seeing better opportunities for his family, sold the farm and moved to Winnipeg. He worked in manufacturing at Parkhill Bedding and Furniture and then as a die press operator for Western Paper Box until his retirement in 1984. On Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Divine Liturgy will be Celebrated in St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 590 Alverstone and Burnell, with Rev. Fr. Michael Krochak, presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Poseidon Care Centre for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 590 Alverstone St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 2B9.
