JOSIP VUJEVIC
It is with a heavy heart that we announce, Josip (Joe) Vujevic has passed away peacefully on November 8th 2024 at the age of 70, battling Alzheimer’s.
He will be remembered through his first-born son Ernest, daughter Ellie, youngest son Edward, brother Pavle, sister-in-law Maria, nephew Denes, long-time friend Rifko, as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory
Joe was born Svetozar Miletic, Somber, Serbia on March 11, 1954 and has always resided in the Serbian region until October 2, 1992. Through the help of his brother Pavle, Joe made it his midlife mission to move his family to safety in Canada, learn the English language and start a new chapter as a plumber. His dream of being his own boss was realized when he registered his own firm and began receiving calls in late 90’s helping Winnipeg homeowners overcome challenges during the flood of ‘97.
Undoubtedly, one of his greatest passions was not merely boat fishing but the thrill of the catch itself. Whether surrounded by family or friends, his joy was infectious as he recounted tales of cherished days boating on the water, casting lines under open skies. These moments lingered late into the night as his company joined him in cooking the day’s catch into a hearty Yugoslavian fish stew—a dish infused with warmth, tradition, and laughter.
Among his final words as he stared out the hospital window at the clear autumn sky, he said “today would be good day for fishing”.
Save a seat for us Dad.
We love you.
