JOYCE LORRAINE BENNET-KUBASH

JULY 1, 1940 – JAN 20, 2024

Peacefully, after a long life well lived, it is with deep regret we announce the death of Joyce Bennet-Kubash on January 20, 2024 at the age of 83 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.   She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Bennet and her second husband, Steve Kubash.   She is survived by her 2 children, Paula Kreitz (Steve) and Ken Bennet (Tammy) and grandchildren Jeremy Kreitz and Matthew Bennet and step-grandchildren Stefan and Andrea.

In her lifetime, Joyce counted 3 different countries as home: her native Canada, as well as France and the US.    She travelled extensively, visiting Italy, France, Germany, throughout Canada, as far north as Churchill, numerous states in the US and Mexico.  She was particularly fond of spending winters in Arizona as long as her health allowed.

Dementia took away her ability to continue to enjoy these things, but in her final years at Golden Links Lodge, the staff continued to engage her in activities that she enjoyed.   Her sunny smile brought joy to all the staff there.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to Golden Links Lodge.

A service will be held on February 23, 11am at St Paul the Apostle, 2400 Portage Ave, Winnipeg.
