JULIA YVONNE PETERS
April 13, 1999 – October 1, 2016
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Julia Peters on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the age of 17 years, when her vehicle drifted off the road in Headingley, Manitoba. Julia grew up in Cartier, Manitoba. She attended École St. Eustache elementary school, École St. Paul’s Collegiate in Elie for her middle years and École Oak Park for high school. Remaining to mourn Julia’s passing are her parents, Andrew and Kerry Peters; sisters, Madisyn (David) and Delaney; grandparents, Calvin and Joan Peters; and grandmother, Valerie Touchette; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. At every stage of her life Julia was truly a unique person. She was a country girl with strong-willed spirit. Julia never failed to radiate the kindness and sincerity that made all that met her find a place in their heart for her. Her family knew best her personality encompassed almost everything possible, she was trying, helpful, infuriating, adventurous, and bright. No two friends would describe Julia quite the same. Some would echo her philosophical views while others simply remember how she went out of her way to be a good friend when it counted most. As a child Julia enjoyed the outdoors spending countless hours jumping on our trampoline, playing outside in the rain and enjoying time at the farm with her grandparents. Julia did a good job trying to keep up with her sisters. She would get ready for events with them even though she wasn’t going. As a teenager, Julia brought a different perspective to our family, her celestial views were often discussed. She championed the underdog and challenged the establishment debating this often with people around her. At 17, Julia was taken far too soon however, we are grateful for the time and experiences we were lucky enough to have with her. The pain felt from her loss would not exist if not for the love and joy felt from her life. A private Service was held with immediate family Thursday, October 6, 2016. A special thank you to the organizers of Julia’s Balloons at Sunset event which was attended by friends and family. Thank-you for the support from everyone we met through Julia’s soccer years at Charleswood Youth Soccer Association. We will be forever grateful for the support we received through this devastating time.
