Karen James

August 29, 1949 - September 2, 2017

KAREN LEE JAMES
Karen James, 68, passed away in peaceful comfort Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB, after a brief battle with leukemia.
Left to cherish Karen’s memory are her husband Brian, of nearly fifty years of marriage; brother Glenn; son Michael, and the grandchildren with whom she shared a simple, unconditional love, Connor and Chase. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret (Peggy) Adamson, and father, Robert Wickland.
Karen was born August 29, 1949, in Didsbury, AB, and moved with her mother to Winnipeg shortly thereafter. She spent most of her working life in that city as executive secretary for the Head of Radiology at Children’s Hospital.
Karen is best remembered as a tender of life, whether for the lush, sprawling garden that was her pride and joy, for the many wayward cats adopted across the decades, or in her care and devotion, each and every day, to those she held most dear.
In accordance with Karen’s wishes, a formal service will not be held.

“As wife, mother, and grandmother, her love was often unspoken,
but let it be known that we heard. Absent, but not forgotten.
Lost to the world, but forever in our hearts.”
