KARL BUCHART

September 27, 2014

KARL HEINZ BUCHART June 19, 1936 – September 27, 2014 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Karl Heinz Buchart passed away at the Victoria Hospital on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Remaining to Cherish Karl’s memory are his children Markus Buchart and Delilah Buchart; grandchild Amy Sanford all of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Alex (Shirley) Galler of Winnipeg; niece Susan (Karl) Heymann of Courtenay, BC; as well as extended family in British Columbia and Germany; and his little buddy Mr. Logan. He was predeceased by both parents Lina and Herman Buchart, both of Boelhorst Germany, and in 2008 by his wife of 52 years Alla (Alice) Buchart (nee Galler). Karl’s early years were spent in the small village of Boelhorst, Germany where, after world war two he had fond memories of playing soccer for the Minden team. He also greatly enjoyed travelling the countryside in search of adventure, first on bicycle then on his motorcycle. Shortly after marrying, Karl and Alice immigrated to Canada in 1957. Soon thereafter he settled into his job as foreman at Motor Coach Industries where he remained for 17 years. In 1979 Dad began his work as an inmate instructor in the metal shop at Stony Mountain Penitentiary. Dad also worked for many years as a doorman and security guard at the old Winnipeg Arena and Stadium. He enjoyed the social aspect of this work very much, and had very fond memories of all the great people he had a chance to meet there. After retirement Dad also continued working part time with the Corps of Commissionaires. Again the social aspect of his work was highly satisfying to him. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway with Rev. Fr. Kelly Wilson, presiding. Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 1020 Main Street, 204-586-8668, in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.comPublish Date: Oct 4, 2014KARL HEINZ BUCHART June 19, 1936 September 27, 2014 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Karl Heinz Buchart passed away at the Victoria Hospital on Saturday, September 27, 2014.
