March 14, 1926 – February 6, 2016
            It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Kurt Hellmann, on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 89 years.Remaining to forever cherish Kurt’s memory are his wife of 61 years, Adelgunde; daughter Karyn (Mick); son David (Lisa); grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa), Ian, Matthew and Ryan; sister, Christa and her family in Germany; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother; and one sister.In 1953, Kurt immigrated from Germany to Canada, where he met and married Gunda in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1954. Together they built a life full of devotion to God. Kurt loved to sing and he sang in the church choir for many years. He gave of himself in every way selflessly to his cherished family, friends and neighbors.Kurt worked as a custodian at the University of Manitoba until his retirement in 1988. He and Gunda enjoyed travelling with many trips made to Germany, Poland, Hawaii, Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic and all over Canada.On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, Kurt’s Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Pastor Bjoern Meinhardt presider.
