Laurel has been a dear lifelong friend. We first met in 1975 attending the U of S. In her quest for knowledge, she was always learning, researching or creating something. Her memory was amazing. Sometimes years would pass before we could get together, but we always kept in touch. We referred to each other as sisters of the heart. When we did get together, it seemed like we had never been apart. On a trip to Hawaii, Laurel and I were so engrossed in our conversation that we didn’t realize our husbands were trying to get our attention. Out of the blue we both heard “Free shoes”. Dean finally got our attention. Laurel felt it important to say “I love you” to those we love. We always ended our conversations with “I love you sister”. Life truly is short. Laurel loved and lived hers to its fullest with the love of her life Dean. Our deepest sympathy goes to you Dean. I love you sister.

My fondest memory of Laurel was at Grand Beach Summer Fest. She was a kind, caring person. She will never be completely gone because she lives on in so many hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you Dean.
