Surrounded by his “girls”, Lawrence moved on from this life on Friday, March 16, 2018 at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB at the age of 89 years.
On November 2,1928 Lawrence was born in Brunkild, Manitoba. He met and married Joan Murray in 1950. Together they raised a family while farming. Lawrence and Joan relocated to Beausejour, Manitoba in 1973 where he was employed by the Department of Highways until his retirement. In retirement he and Joan enjoyed many years of travel. Lawrence was happy fishing from his boat on the Winnipeg River or singing on the tractor during field work. He found joy making others laugh, singing in church and community choirs and looking upon his family – an ever growing group, gathered around the dinner table.
Remaining to forever cherish Lawrence’s memory are his children,Terry (Raymond), Michael (Gabriella), Patty (Lyle), Wendy (Byron) and Janet (Tim), 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister, Alice and by numerous nieces and nephews to celebrate his life. He was predeceased by his parents Charles (Charlie) and Helena (Lena), brothers, Alan and William (Willie), his wife Joan and by a son, Dennis.
Lawrence’s Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., in the Zion Lutheran Church, 403 – 1st Street North, Beausejour, Manitoba, with Pastor Bart Coleman, presider. A private family interment will be held in the Beausejour Town Cemetery.
