LESLIE GEORGE HIGGINS
February 26, 1925 – November 16, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leslie Higgins, who left us peacefully at the Grace Hospital on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 92 years.   Left behind to cherish Leslie’s memory are his three children Linda (Phil) Perks, Larry (Jill) Higgins, and Darlene Higgins; four grandchildren Jennifer (Jason), Melanie (Darrell), Jocelyn (Aaron), and Riley; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Ashton, Joseph, Raina, Braiden, Logan, Carson and Karalyn, all of whom he loved and enjoyed immensely. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Lorna Higgins.   Leslie served during World War II in the Air Force. He also worked for 37 years with the provincial government. He had many hobbies such as leatherworking, fishing, bird watching, curling and spending time at the cottage with his family. It was Leslie’s dream to visit his father’s birthplace in Ireland, which he was able to accomplish in 2008 at the age of 83 with his daughter, Linda. He will always be remembered for boat rides on the lake, trips to the store, impromptu lunches out, afternoon “shoo shoos“ and his many chauffeur rides that were always appreciated. He enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies each day, his regular visits to Salisbury House and connecting with his neighbours, especially his honorary grandson, Hugh.   In compliance with Leslie’s wishes, there will be a private Celebration of Life, but no formal service will be held.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Leslie’s name.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
