ELDON COUSINS

SEPTEMBER 10, 1924 – JUNE 22, 2023

     With his family by his side, Eldon Cousins passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 98 years.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Delma in 2004. Remaining to cherish his memory are his sons, Larry (Nancy) and David (Leanne); grandchildren, Greg (Debby), Jeff (Nicole) and Marla; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eldon was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Margaret, his brothers Les, Alan, and his sister Margaret.

Born and raised in the Manitou area, Eldon and Delma moved to Vancouver in 1947. They eventually returned to Winnipeg in 1950 where they started their family. In 1971 they moved to Kelowna and then on to Vancouver but eventually returned to Winnipeg where they lived until their passings.

In his later years Eldon became close friends with Erika Sadler whom he spent all his time with laughing and enjoying life to its fullest until his last day. The family will be forever grateful to Erika for bringing eternal joy to our father’s life.

Eldon worked in the heating and air conditioning industry for many years in partnership with Fred Whitla operating as Whitla and Cousins Heat-in Services. They ran the business together until their retirement. Eldon then went on to work at Canada Post until retiring for the second time.

A Celebration of Eldon’s life will take place at The Parkway Retirement Community, 85 Paget St. in Winnipeg on Wednesday, July 12th from 2pm to 4pm.

Our family thanks and appreciates the wonderful care and compassion shown by the staff on the 5th floor, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, including the nurses, doctors, and support staff.
