LIDIJA JANKOVEC It is with a sad heart that I announce the passing of my mother, Lidija Jankovec on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 78 years. Mama leaves behind her two younger sisters still residing in Croatia and brother, Mario Sabljak (Sajma) of Winnipeg; as well as her only child, Ljiljana Edmunds (Ross); two grandchildren, Wesley Ross and Samantha Michelle. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Vojko Josef Jankovec. In compliance with Mama’s wishes there will be no Funeral Service. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in helping to care for my Mama over the last few years, especially the staff of 4A at Holy Family Home and more recently the wonderful doctors and care givers at Grace Hospital. Thank you, Mama, for your strength and tenacity which served us well by bringing us to Canada such a long, long time ago. Your efforts ensured us with a wonderful life. My only regret is that you did not enjoy the fruits of your accomplishments as much as you could have.
