The many wonderful memories we have of both your mother and father prompt us to take this opportunity to acknowledge Lorna's death. As very young children living on King Edward Street, we have snippets of recollections of Lorna from our earliest years including picnics at Assiniboine Park and trips to "Scottish Beach". When we later moved to Windsor Park, there were many other occasions to "get-together" - dinners at Christmas and New Year's; card parties; and most notably, arriving home from school for lunch to find that "Lorna had come for coffee... and stayed on for the day!" ...a red-letter day for us as kids. Your Mum's warm and generous hospitality when we would "descend" on the Murta residence on Bruce Avenue stands out, as well as, her distinctive laugh and exclamation - "Holy Doodle"! Her manner of engaging in conversation with us left us feeling both "seen and heard". As adults, our paths crossed less frequently but the memories endure! Please know that, over the years, we have often reminisced about time spent in your mother's company. She was a remarkable woman and will undoubtedly be remembered for a life well-lived!
