I am very saddened to hear of Lyla's passing. I met her in Apache Junction...she was my neighbour as I was passing through in my RV. She immediately greeted me, made me very welcome in the park, and acted as a tour guide for the area! I last saw her in Halifax a few years ago ...she was there at a conference, and we spent a day together. I could finally return the " tour guide" favour! Lyla made me smile, and she made me think! I shall miss her refreshing honesty, wit, joie de vivre! My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

Dear Wayne and Everett, I was shocked and saddened to read of Lyla's passing this morning. Lyla and I worked together at James Richardson for 29 years. And, after our retirements, met along with other JR retired ladies for lunch at least twice a year. Unfortunately, with Covid the last time was June 2020, although, up until a month or two ago, we did keep in touch via e-mail and phone. Lyla knew everybody! And, when we got together, there was always a story of someone she ran into and so she always kept us up to date on the happenings of others. Lyla was always in my prayers and I will miss her greatly. Sincerely Donna Kendell
