Marcel Boyer

December 19, 1953 - September 24, 2016

MARCEL “JOE” BOYER
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of a dear father, brother, uncle and friend, Aime Marcel Boyer, also known as Joe. With his siblings by his side, we got to send him off with some old time country music, dancing his way into the sky.   Joe is survived by his sons Arnold, Billy Jo, Marcel Jr.; grandkids; siblings Shirley (Edgar) Bruce, Sylvia Boyer, Darlene (Ed) Woytowich, Denise (Jerry) Coutu, Jean Denis (Cathy) Boyer, Ken Boyer, Beverley (Allan) Jolicoeur and by his numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sons James and Michael; parents Étienne and Stella Boyer; sister Patricia Johnston; brother Étienne Jr.; brother-in-law Donat Coutu and his special friend Harriet.    In this past year, Joe bravely fought cancer and did so without any complaints. He was an avid reader who also loved to play cards, go fishing, telling jokes, having bonfires and kicking up his heels to some old time music. He enjoyed watching hockey and in his younger days loved to challenge his brothers to a knee style hockey game. He was quite the tinkerer and handyman, never failing to give a hand wherever needed. May his loving and kind heart be eternally blessed.    We give special thanks to the caregivers at Parkview Place, for their compassion and attentive care.    A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will follow in St. Laurent Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, St. Laurent, MB at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Joe’s nephews, Daryll Allard, Shane Jolicoeur, Derrick Coutu, Edgar Bruce Jr, Elvis Perreault.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematorium, Winnipeg, 1020 Main Street, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
