MARGARET PATRICIA WAYNE
(NEE ENGLOT)
APRIL 21, 1944, TO JANUARY 9, 2022
Sadly, but peacefully, at the age of 77 years, with her family by her side, Mom left us to be with Dad.
Left to feel her loss are her children and their spouses, Melanie and Bob, Christin and Will, Bill and Carlyss, and her greatest blessings, her grandchildren, Joshua, Quinn, Michaela, Barrett, Carys and Callan.
“Margie” was born during the war, loved spending time on the family farm, was a goody two-shoes in school, moved away to further her education which led to a career in physiotherapy, and eventually came back and married her high-school sweetheart. Together Mom and Dad gave us the most happy, stable, and normal childhoods. We could count on big Christmas dinners with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. Summers meant camping and fishing, a trip out West. Our friends were always welcomed, free to come over and stay for the weekend.
If you knew Marge, you know she loved to travel. She was just as happy skiing on a mountain in the Rockies, as she was on a beach in Puerto Vallarta. Having traveled Canada and the US while we were young, Bill and Marge made Mexico their winter destination for about 15 years. Once on her own, she would travel with friends on tours of Europe, a cruise of the Mediterranean and a very spiritually meaningful trip back to Israel for a second time. The most special trips she took though were the ones with her grandkids multiple times to Disney, and we look forward to the next time we can all get in the same boat again on her favorite ride, It’s A Small World.
It is impossible to express everything she did for us. She helped us raise her grandchildren. She went to the soccer, hockey, baseball games, and the Christmas concerts and graduations of each grandchild. She delighted in each and every one of their accomplishments.
She was a loving and caring daughter to her parents. She cherished her sister, her brothers, and their spouses. She adored her nieces and nephews. She forged many deep bonds with lifelong childhood friends and neighbors and co-workers who became dear friends. We witnessed her caregiving nature firsthand as she supported Dad through his illness. It is a testament to her that she was able to stay in her own home supported by family and friends, especially her best friends, her granddaughters, most notably Michaela. She will forever be a presence in our lives.
