I was saddened when I heard this news. Garth and I went to high school together and later I was able to say to so many, that the Garth in The Mongrels is my buddy. My sincere condolences to the family. He was as they say, 'one of the good guys' and he will be missed.

Leslie, I was so very sorry to read of Garth's death too soon. In the few encounters you and I have had over the years you seemed as happy and lovely as in your youth so I know that was in large part due to a happy marriage and fulfilled life. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family at this saddest of times. Sunny

My deepest sympathies to the Nosworthy family. I had the pleasure of knowing Garth when I lived with my parents on Charleswood road. Always there to lend a hand or have a good laugh. My fondest memory of Garth is when he would walk his dog past our house, stop at the end of the driveway and call my dog, 'Sparky'. She would jump the five foot fence and they would proceed on their walk. Returning after, stopping at the driveway and sending her back over the fence. Thank you, God Bless

Leslie, Lindsay and GregWe are sad to hear about the sudden passing of Garth. The weather has been cold this winter and we haven't seen the both of you walking hand and hand with the dog by the house. You always had a big smile on your face. We can't express our sorrow for you at this time.Michael and Laurette Subchak (Matlock Neighbors)

I grew up with Garth on Ash Street and he was a big part of both me and my brother's growing up. I can recall band practices in his father's garage when he played for 'The Mongrels'; all the neighbors kids filled the back lane blocking traffic. I missed an opportunity to meet Garth at Nickel Days in Thompson a few years ago to relive our past experiences. Garth was SPECIAL and from our Family to his Garth will be sadly missed but forever remembered.

Garth and I go back many years. We grew up together. He lived across the back lane from my house and during our elementary school years we were joined at the hip. We shared a passion for music and spent countless hours with Duncan W., Terry C., and Larry D. practicing music in our basements. Garth and I would spend Saturdays going up and down Portage Avenue in and out of every music store looking for guitar strings. We lost touch through our high school years and when we met 20 years later it was as though time had never passed. Garth was a true and valued friend. Friends like Garth don't come along often. He will genuinely be missed. For the old times...God Bless.

I left Winnipeg in 1976 but heard from and of 'the Noz' often after that, despite never seeing him over the years. I still smile thinking of hours together on the ice and then when I had hair, playing in our various bands and sharing the love of music. Time and distance never dampen true friendship. The memories and smiles will continue.

It was so sad to hear of Garth's passing. Garth worked tirelessly to make ecole tuxedo park a wonderful place for all children. His music and cooking ability were inspirational to all the staff, students and community. Garth gave his heart to tuxedo park and we all enjoyed working with him and Leslie. We know he loved his children and that was evident in all he did at the school. My thoughts are with Leslie, Lindsay and Greg

Our deepest sympathies to Leslie, Greg & Lindsay. Garth was always a smiling face and warm hug when we were able to visit. My kids grew up listening to Just Kiddin' and I loved the music as much as they did. You could feel his energy and fun-loving spirit through the songs. Breakfast with Santa is one of our kids favorite memories! Our prayers and thoughts are with you in the future days.

Garth was Ted's 'coming of age' buddy. Their stories of Garth's Duster and those 'Westwood' girls have been recounted many times over the years with the same joy as if they happened yesterday. It was Leslie who introduced me to Garth's friend Ted--for this I will be forever grateful. Garth and Leslie are a true love story--something that is so rare to find these days. Our hearts go out to Leslie, Lindsay and Gregory for their loss. May you find strength in all of the wonderful memories you have of this fantastic guy. Love Cara and Ted Tax

I was shocked and very saddened to get this news of Garth. We have this treasure in jars of clay . . . (2 Cor 7) He was always the epitome of cheerfulness, extending to all a radiant good will. That's the Garth Nosworthy that I will always remember. My deepest condolences to his family, who must feel this loss even more deeply than Garth's many friends.

I was shocked and saddened when I heard the news of Garth's passing. Shocked because I had run into Leslie and Garth at a Jets game just a couple of months ago and enjoyed a nice conversation. Everything seemed fine. Saddened because Garth was such a fun guy to know. Early in our working careers, Garth and I discovered that my father had been one of Garth's teachers at Grant Park. It always amused me to think of my very serious father and the not so serious Garth trying to co-exist in the same classroom. Leslie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My sincerest sympathy.

Garth was an outstanding musician, songwriter and a dear friend. He will be greatly missed. I will remember fondly the many gigs we did together as band mates in Just Kiddin’. I will remember the smiling faces on the kids as Garth invited them on stage and offered them instruments to play and asked them their names. I will remember the sheer energy Garth put into every show and the enthusiastic responses he received from both the kids and their parents.Garth was a kind, loving man who was funny, quick witted and so very generous with his time and friendship. I will miss our breakfasts together and the music we made together over the years. To Leslie, Lindsay and Greg our sincere condolences. I saw first hand the love you had for one another and the love Garth had for you. Words cannot express the deep sorrow I feel for your loss. We will call as soon as we return home.God bless you.
