Maureen was a second mother to me during my teens when I lived with her; first on Anderson Ave and then on Fernwood E. During a time that wasn't easy for her she remained strong and positive for her two girls and myself. I learned so much from her. My life would never have been the same without her influence. Self reliance, conviction, courage, dignity and humility were just a few of the things she taught me. Oh yes, and how to be classy. Over the years she was 'the one I could talk to" and I don't have anyone to replace her. Joyce Mayor Morris .. Cardinal, ON

Maureen holds a special place in my heart as she’s my name sake. My grandad’s twin. She was always kind and thoughtful. We’ll miss her dearly.

We had the privilege of being Maureen's neighbors for several years at Appleton Estates. She welcomed us warmly on the day we moved in and we became good friends, helping and watching out for each other. Maureen was famous for her baking and shared many recipes with us. We will miss her good humor and kindness. Our condolences to all her loved ones. May she rest in peace. Helen and Harry Abs.
