MAX WILLIAM GOLDACK

Max William Goldack left us on August 19, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents, Edna and William Goldack, and by his loving and devoted wife, Janet Goldack, on May 16,2022. He is survived by his sister, Marie Slessor, of Maple Ridge, B.C. Max possessed two birth certificates, issued by Alberta and Saskatchewan, and was born in Lloydminster, where his father ran an automobile service business.

Max met and married Janet on Canada day, 1972 in Mississauga, Ontario, and were together for over 50 years, through Max’s sales careers with Sylvania Canada and Superlite, and spent most of their life together in their home in River West Park, where thev made many lasting friendships with their neighbours.

Max had a private pilot’s licence, and Janet and he had many interesting trips together across Canada and intc the United States. They also travelled internationally and loved their cruises together. Their pre-Christmas open houses were annual highlights for neighbours, Rotarians, business associates and political contacts, and the emergence of the shrimp paella was always worth the wait

Max was intensely active, politically, socially and with organizations he became part of. He was a
Rotarian for 49 years and was president of the Rotary Chib of Winnipeg West in 1982-3, and he and Janet hosted several international exchange students. For many years he was actively involved in the

International Rotary Goodwill Exchange event, held annually usually in Winnipeg and various American locations. Max served as informal liaison with the Winnipeg West Air Cadet squad,on 199.

At Max’s request there will be no funeral service, but it is anticipated that a memorial will be held with friends and neighbours
