METRO SOLOMON   It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Metro Solomon on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 71 years.   Surviving Metro are his brothers, Alex, Ernie, Willie and Eugene; daughters Mary-Ann and Patricia (Patrick); grandchildren, Bradley and Andrew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Heather; parents, Mary and William; and brother John.   Metro had a long career in education, working as a teacher and administrator. He spent most of his career in Northern Canada and eventually settled in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut in 1991. Metro enjoyed carpentry, outdoor activities and was dedicated fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Maple Leafs.   A Funeral Service was held for Metro on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.   A special thanks to all the staff at the Wellington Residence who took such good care of Metro in his last year, and to the all the staff at the Grace Hospital who took care of Metro in his final days.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
