MICHAEL CHAPMAN
October 8, 1961 – September 25, 2015

On Friday, September 25, 2015, a man with a heart of gold, Michael (Mike) David Chapman, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53 years.
Left surviving Mike are nine siblings, Bev (Peter) Moss, Linda (Brian) Shopka, Judy Hossack, Rob Chapman (Barb Higgins), Wendy Thomson, Susan Ollinger (Richard Michaud), Debbie (Mitch) Eden, Kerry Hill (Dean Fontaine) and Tracey (Mike) McGill; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; friends and his cats. He was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Joyce Chapman and brother, John Chapman.
Mike lived and worked his entire life in St. James. He had many talents – cooking, woodworking, repairing furniture, cars and stereos, and most recently writing poetry. He had an incredible love for music and spending time with good friends. He was a very hard worker and took pride in a job well done. Mike?s spirit, laugh and quirky sense of humour will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the St. James Legion, 1755 Portage Avenue. Interment will take place at a later date.
In recognition of Mike’s love of animals, memorial donations be made to D’Arcy’s Arc, Winnipeg Humane Society or another pet charity of your choice.
