It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Stasiuk at the age of 53 on November 6th, 2023 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli, MB.
Michael was born June 27, 1970 in Winnipeg, MB to Mike and Joan Stasiuk. Left to cherish his memory is his sister Wanda Stasiuk (Gary) and his nephews Nate and Griffin. He was predeceased by his mother Joan in 1985 and his father Mike in 2016. He will be lovingly remembered by many others including aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his Riverdale Place Homes family.
Growing up on his family farm in Poplarfield MB, Michael was surrounded by family and friends. Special times for Michael was when there were gatherings whether it was a holiday or just a visit. These times were special because they included 3 of his most favourite things from lively sing songs to food and laughter. He just loved listening to the conversations especially if they were spoke in Ukrainian. Once you made him laugh you couldn’t help but join in. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
Michael`s love of music was endless, from county to gospel, from singing to recorded. He loved many artists one of his most favourites was Anne Murray. She had a magical way of bringing happiness to his days. In later years Michael had the incredible experience of going to her concert and meeting her.
Michael has resided with his Riverdale Place Homes family for 27 years in Arborg MB. The love, care and experiences they have provided for him is immeasurable. He was blessed to have the most spectacular people spending their days with him. Every single one of you, too numerous to mention will hold a special place in our hearts, thank you.
Michael enjoyed going to Riverdale Workshop daily for many years where he could connect with his community. He like heading to the local Co-op for a coffee and cookie. “C is for cookie “ was a fun song he loved.
Michael liked being outside in the fresh air and going on bumpy walks around town to camping listening to the waves, birds and the crackling campfire.
He was fond of entertaining guests at his apartment residence and always insisted to make coffee. Other adventures included going shopping, supper at Chicken Chef and heading to a movie that would bring back the memories of his most loved childhood cartoon characters. Attending the Fellowship Church was always something he looked forward to.
To my big brother,
