Mildred MacLeod

August 4, 1945 - August 24, 2017

MILDRED (MILLY) MACLEOD
Mom’s journey began on Saturday, August 4, 1945. She was born to proud parents Amanda and Christopher Lambert and was the tenth addition to their blossoming family. She loved to help people and worked for Pink Lady as a courier and then as a health care aide for WRHA for thirty years, before finally retiring in 2010. She worked right until she turned 65 and left behind many clients who adored her for the devoted care she’d given them over the years. Mom enjoyed dancing, reading, jumble puzzles, watching TV, going to Lockport for a burger, fries and ice cream, talking to her sister and best friend Phyllis for hours, reliving the good old days or talking about their favorite shows on television. She also enjoyed cleaning her house on Saturday mornings in her nightie while blaring her music and spending time with her favorite furry friend Louie.   Milly will be greatly missed by her children; one of her best friends Diane, Henry, John (Loretta), Roger (Pat), Lisa (Jim) and Robyn; sisters Edna Trafiak, Dora (John) Houlden, Yvette (Bill) Smith, Louise (Raymond) Klyne, Flora (Nelson) Klyne, Shirley Lambert and Frieda (Gordie) Hunt; her special and best friend Phyllis Arfinson (Allan Hart); brothers Marcel (Rosalie) Lambert and Hector Lambert; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Amanda and Christopher Lambert; husband Robert MacLeod; grandsons Cain and Cameron; sister Rita Scott and husband Ron Scott; brother Harold; brothers-in-law Larry Arnfinson and Mike Trafiak and sister-in-law Connie Lambert.     Milly was a strong woman and fought hard until the very end. She lost her battle on Thursday, August 24, 2017. She fought so hard the last four days of her life. Mom received such good care in the palliative ward at St. Boniface Hospital and the family would like to personally thank Sandra, her health care aide, who was so special, loving and pregnant, as well as Ashleigh, who was one of Mom’s nurses. Special thank you to my dad Henry Brandt, who helped take care of Mom at the end. Mom was such a strong woman and we will love our mother until the end of time!    A Celebration of Mom’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Eric Giddins, presider.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 1020 Main Street, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

“Mom, my heart is broken and hurting.
What will I do without you and your jokes and your special birthday songs every year? We love you more”.
