MOIRA ANNE SKELDING (nee Eagle)
Moira Anne Skelding, of Winnipeg Manitoba, died peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 79, surrounded by her closest family and friends.
Moira was born on February 27, 1944, in Winnipeg, Manitoba to her loving parents Anne Eagle and Dr. Edwin Douglas Eagle and her big brother, John Andrew Eagle. She married Lloyd Crossley Skelding on December 18, 1971, and together they had one child, Andrew Crossley Skelding in 1977.
Moira is survived by her son, Andrew Skelding (Chrissy) and 4 grandchildren Mallory, Mathew, Liza and Ava and loving nieces and nephews. Moira was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, father, mother, brother and grandson, Mark Crossley Skelding.
Moira graduated from Churchill High School in 1962 where she made many lifelong friendships with the best friends that anyone could ask for. Moira went on to Teachers College to pursue a career in teaching. Moira became the special education teacher at King George V School in Winnipeg, where she made a lifelong impression and relationships with her students and families.
Moira was an active member of the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion 252, serving on the Colour Party and many other committees, creating many more friendships and connections in her later years. Moira became a very competitive Cribbage and Darts player, winning many championships, but most importantly creating many great relationships.
At Moira’s request, cremation has taken place. A service will be held on January 5th, 2024, at 1pm at Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Ave in Winnipeg Manitoba.
