MORGAN KEMP
July 5, 2012
MORGAN WILLIAM KEMP It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of Morgan Kemp on Thursday, July 5, 2012, in Winnipeg, at the age of 29 years. Left to cherish Morgan’s memory are his parents, Susan and Allan Kemp; sister Lauren Kemp; grandmother Jeanne Dufresne; grandfather Ron Kemp; as well as numerous relatives across Canada. He was predeceased by his grandmother Jo Kemp and grandfather Paul Dufresne. Morgan was a bright, sensitive child who was obsessed with music from a very early age. He began piano lessons when he was three years old and continued until he switched to drums when he was twelve. Later, he fell in love with the guitar. Morgan was a Rock God in high school, and in his last year at St. John’s Ravenscourt School, he brought the S.J.R. Rock Show audience to its feet with a virtuoso performance of the drum solo of Santana’s ‘Soul Sacrifice’. We all felt that Morgan was destined to a brilliant career in music. But it was not meant to be. He struggled with mental illness all of his adult life and it interfered with his every endeavor. No Funeral Service will be held. A special thank you to John Einarson for the annual S.J.R. Rock Shows.
