MURRAY FRANK SLATER

April 11, 1960 – October 21, 2022

It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Murray Frank Slater suddenly announce his passing at the age of 62 on October 21, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Murray was born in Winnipeg and at the age of 4 the family moved and settled into Matsqui, British Columbia.  Eventually, he moved back to Winnipeg at the age of 16 where he stayed and would soon have his “one and only” daughter (as he would say) and continue to live.

He worked most of his life in the windows industry.  He took great pride in his work and was always very willing to put those skills to use to help others.  If you didn’t know Murray, you would see how much he loved his family, how hard working he was, and how he loved interacting with the kids. We will forever miss his playfulness, many phone calls, smiling face and the way he loved.

He is survived by his daughter Christine (Wes), grandchildren Tristan, Lexie, Brynn and Myles. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Leonard, Gail, Bonnie, Diane (Joe), Beverley (Chris), Deborah (Gary), Robbie (Pete), and Marian.

We are forever grateful for the emergency care he received by his co-workers at Border Glass, the emergency responders, and the hospital staff at St. Boniface Hospital.

Cremation and a small family viewing will be held by Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.

Interment and service to be held in Abbotsford, B.C. November 10, 2022 at 2pm at the Hazelwood Cemetery.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
