Patricia (nee Sawchuk) & George Giricz, Surrey, BC Dear Karl, Brenda, Heather, and Family Members: We heard the news of your mother's falling asleep in death. I have fond memories of attending the River East Congregation as a single sister prior to 1995 when I moved to BC and married. I was assigned to the book study group that met at Nan's home for many years where I witnessed your mother's outgoing and generous personality. She was truly a great example of a christian sister in so many ways - she displayed many wonderful christian qualities that I will never forget! I do know that she had a great love for people and for her Heavenly Father. We look forward to the day when we can welcome her back in the new system and enjoy her company once again while we all enjoy the Real Life together on Earth! May you find comfort in knowing that she touched the hearts of so many people who also share your faith that Jehovah will remember Nan and awaken her from her sleep into the Paradise that she longed for.

Dear Karl, Brenda, Heather and extended family members. Sandy and I just wanted to let you know how sad we feel for your for your loss. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to you all. I especially have many memories of your mom considering I grew up around your family. All those years with Heather in school and the CBS in your home for years. I think the most profound memory, even noticed when I was a kid growing up, was your mothers strong spirituality. And her incredible knowledge of the Bible. Always put me to shame on any trivia challenge. Her love for Jehovah and the doing of His will, primarily the ministry, will never be forgotten. May your memories of your mom, your circle of friends and family, Jehovah and His organization be a source of comfort at this very sad time. Much Christian love, Kevin and Sandy Markevich

To The Family: I grew up in Charleswood attending Charleswood School and from the time it was built, Royal School. Mrs.Yurkiw was my Teacher in the mid fifties. I have forgotten the grade but I do remember her as Miss Kasian and returning after Christmas as Mrs. Yurkiw. I was most impressed! Although this was about 65 years ago, I still remember what a strong teacher she was and can tell you that her influence was felt by many children...for the good! I am so sorry for your loss, but you can be very proud of what she accomplished as a teacher. Margaret Mills ( nee Zimmerman) currently in Headingley, Mb.

To the Yurkiw Family, Your Mom was a kindly, thoughtful, generous, strong, and resourceful woman. I have fond childhood memories, all cherished of spending time with your family. Playing games, sitting at your table having supper, sleepovers, going to the beach, tobogganing, conventions, and always feeling included. While visiting with your Mom in later years, Aunt Nan would always find ways to encourage and commend me. My children remember the delicious cookies served to them when they visited. I will always remember her kindness, faithfulness, and steadfastness for truth and righteousness. I will miss her but look forward to the hope of seeing her again!! If I remember correctly, in the early years Aunt Nan kept a dutiful eye on James, and had I been there I’m absolutely sure she would have done the same for me. Although I was lost for awhile, in time, Jehovah saw something worthwhile in me, and drew me back to him. Never give up!! This is the wonderful Father we all have, that created the heavens and the earth and all the things in it, and as the God of love, will continue to fulfill his purposes, part of that being the resurrection to bring us together again with our loved ones we have all lost. When Aunty Nan wakes up may she see all of her closest family and friends. May our cherished memories serve us to be there to welcome her back. With love and kindness, Your cousin and niece, Anita Sending you Warm Love and Condolences from the Somai family - Elias, Anita, Sarrah, Mathieu, and Ryan.

We are so sorry for your great loss. I always looked forward to seeing Nan at assemblies with that warm friendliness she always displayed. She used to come with Evelyn Calsbeck to study with me (Leona) when I was first coming to know Jehovah. She has a special place in my heart. Jehovah will surely help you Brenda& Heather and the rest of your family as you bear your loss. Warm Christian love, Marcel&Leona
