Obituaries

I had the pleasure of working with Nestor at the Centennial Centre for a few years, toward the tail end of his full second career there (after retiring from Manitoba Hydro). Nestor was the kind of guy who always had a smile on his face, and never let anything get him down. He always found a way to lighten the mood with his wise form of optimism, reminding the rest of us not to sweat the small stuff. He made every shift a pleasant time, and we shared many laughs together. I'm sure he's playing the perfect golf course in the sky now, having a good time and a laugh with his friends, like he always was. Thanks for everything, Nestor. You are missed.

I met Nestor and the family when I came to Pointe in 1973 and he was a senior Power Plant Operator and I relied on his knowledge to guide me through the progression to become the same. Along the way we shared stories and met challenges and developed a good friendship. He will always be remembered as a good operator and a great musician, parts that were shared by the rest of the family. We offer our sincere condolences to the family on his passing and may you find comfort in the many stories and memories that you have shared with many over the years. Norm & Pat Norris
