NORMAND PARADIS

June 22, 2013

NORMAND GEORGE EMILE PARADIS Normand Paradis passed away at Tuxedo Villa Care Home on June 22, 2013 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Irene, after 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his three children, David (Kim), Brian (Gina), and Sandra (Timothy) Anderson and his three grandchildren, Ryan (Kazia), Kaitlyn (Brett) Blanco and Dylan. He was predeceased by his parents Felix and Rose Paradis, his older brother Alphonse, his sister Lucille Lafreniere, his brothers Leonard and Jean. He is survived by his sisters Celine Pauwels and Jeanine Landry, his brothers Rene, Gabriel and Lionel. Having grown up in a large, happy family of ten siblings, he remained family oriented all his life, and was thrilled by the arrival of his own children and grandchildren. He loved and was proud of them all. After graduating from high school, he taught grades one to eight in a one-room country school. However most of his working life was spent in the hardware-retail business. He loved to deal with the public and people in general. He was a man of integrity and honesty and he treated people from every background and ethnic extraction with respect and dignity. Everyone he spoke to, whether for the first time, or anytime thereafter, received a warm smile, genuine interest, and a gentle friendliness that became his reputation. After dealing with the ravages of poor health, and, in recent months with the frustration of memory loss, the struggle is now over. He is sleeping peacefully in death and we know that his future life is in God’s hands. We the family will cherish many happy memories of what was a good life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, July 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Wojcik’s Funeral Home at 1020 Main Street in Winnipeg.Publish Date: Jun 29, 2013NORMAND GEORGE EMILE PARADIS On Saturday, June 22, 2013; Normand died at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home at the age of 84 years.
