JIM MCNAUGHTON
On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at the age of 94, it is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Uncle Jim. He was born and raised in Gunton, MB. Predeceased by his wife Eleanor, of almost 60 years in 2008, as well as brothers Alec, Cecil, and niece Joy. He leaves behind his loving niece Corinne and husband Ken, their family, Kerri and Kelly and their children Carlynn and Connor, Kim and Kevin and their children Justin (Reaghen), Jayde (Connor) and Joelle. He also leaves behind niece Sandra, husband Brian and their families, brother-in-law Fred (Pat); nephew Jack and wife Chris and their son David (Sarah); nephew Fred and niece Kathy, as well as many cousins and friends. Jim was in the R.C.A.F. in the Second World War. He was the only survivor in a Lancaster Bomber that was shot down over France. After the war he was employed at McCabe Grain and later Cargill Grain until his retirement in 1985. He loved to garden, golf and curl. He even had a hole in one and an 8 ender. He was also very involved in the Shrine Patrol for many years. He will be missed by the friends he made at the Canoe Club where he resided for the past five and a half years. Many thanks to the excellent doctors and nurses in the ER and 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. We will miss listening to all your sarcastic comments and fascinating stories, as well as all the family events we shared, you will be missed, we love you Uncle Jim!
