Paul (Frederick) Ayoub

It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul (Frederick) Ayoub on 19, December 2023.

Paul lived a life of many experiences and adventures. Growing up on various air force bases and being one of seven siblings, he, and his brothers and sisters made an impact wherever they were stationed. Paul often shared about his memories growing up, participating in community activities and committees, particularly of his involvement with the Teen Club in Goose Bay, Labrador.

Paul continued his adventures after graduating high school and university, by moving to Churchill, Manitoba for a job with Indigenous Affairs, where he met and married Margaret, his wife of 51 years. Paul and Margaret moved to Thompson, Manitoba and started a family, and later moved to Winnipeg where they have remained for the past 42 years. In 1989 for one year, Paul and family travelled to Ghana, West Africa for a work opportunity, a life changing experience.

Paul was known for his many talents, and was particularly gifted in the creative arts. He spent a lot of time painting, building, and creating in his basement workshop, and often gifted others with things he had made.

Paul always cherished his family, and spoke of them proudly. In later life, he was thrilled to become a grandfather to each of his 5 grandchildren, all of whom he was convinced are geniuses.

Paul is survived by his wife Margaret Ayoub (Spears); children Edward Ayoub (Dilara), and Margo Ayoub (Andrew); grandchildren Edward, Pepper, Olivia, Maxwell, and Isobel; siblings Madeleine, Camille, Danielle, Marc, and Louise; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paul is predeceased by his parents Edward and Marguerite, and brother Edward.

Arrangements for a memorial gathering will be announced at a future date.
