PETER SOSHYCKI
It is with sadness we announce his passing on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 69 years.
Peter grew up near Pine River, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg as a young man where he worked on the commercial printing presses until he retired from Winpak in 2013. He was a hard-working man who loved his faithful pets and enjoyed fishing on his boat, picking blueberries at Nutimik Lake in the Whiteshell, and tending to his tomatoes. In the winters, Peter kept busy and tinkering around his house in his amazing garage filled with his collectables and cross-country skiing in the park.
Left to mourn Peter’s passing are his children, Darryl (daughter in law, Teresa), Tim, (daughter-in-law, Dayna) and Danica (Remi) friend Curtis Brigham and his six grandchildren, Keianna, John, Eden, Dylan, Saul, and Raisa. Peter loved visits with his grandchildren and was keenly looking forward to the arrival of a new granddaughter in the coming weeks.
He is survived by his sisters, Mae, Anne, Mary and brother Gus, extended family and numerous nieces and nephews whom he cared about deeply. He always enjoyed their visits and calls and also enjoyed conversations with his neighbours at his home in Richmond West.
Dad struggled with deteriorating health in recent years and the family thanks the staff at the third floor of the Grace Hospital for their compassionate care for Peter in his final days.
In keeping with our fathers wishes, a celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
While Peter did love flowers, he also loved animals who needed a home. In this spirit, donations are gratefully accepted at the Winnipeg Humane Society www.winnipeghumanesociety.ca/ways-to-help/donate/

We believe that Dad is at peace,
looking at the brilliant sun over a calm lake – filled with comfort and joy.
