On Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the age of 79 years, Ray (known to his family and many others as Baba) quietly and peacefully passed away with loving family by his side. Remaining to forever hold in their hearts Ray’s memory are his children, Lori (Harry) Bird, Lynn Cooper and Joe (Lesley) Kozun; his grandchildren, Krystal (Daniel), Nik (Krista), Jordan (Paige), Dylan (Jessica), Christian (Alyssa), Nicole, Megan (Shane), Jason (Erica) and Justin; and the lights of his life, his great-grandchildren, Aurelia, Signy, Fionn and Griffin. He was predeceased by his wife, Marg. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kirkfield Westwood Community Centre, 165 Sansome Avenue, Winnipeg. Our family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all of the medical professionals who were involved in Ray’s care over the years. Special thanks to Dr. Czaykowski and Denise Klassen, as well as the WRHA Palliative Care Team who all provided loving and dignified care, both at home and at St. Boniface Hospital.
