RAYMOND STANLEY CRYDERMAN

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Lt. Col Raymond Stanley Cryderman as we announce his passing from natural causes on June 24th, 2024. An extraordinary individual, Ray lived a life characterized by resilience, compassion, and unwavering strength.

He was born on December 9th, 1932, in Gladstone Manitoba to a close-knit family (Maurice, Mae (nee Berry), Joyce, Marilyn, Glen and Lewis). As a young man, Ray began a career in the military, which was synonymous with dedication and service. He joined the Canadian Air Force in 1951 and proudly served his country for 32 years, retiring in 1983. During his time in the Airforce, he held various positions from flight crew in eastern Canada to serving as military administration representing Canada with NATO in Belgium and finally 17 Wing in Winnipeg Manitoba. He received numerous commendations for his outstanding contributions.

Ray was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Ray married the love of his life, Elaine (nee Martin), in 1957 and together they raised two children Norman and David (Heather). His love and support for his family was endless, and he was a constant pillar of strength and guidance. As a grandfather, Ray was adored and cherished by his grandchildren Taylor and Mathew and Derrick Tristyn and Bretton, who will remember him as a kind and loving person who always had a smile on his face and a story to tell.

In retirement and life, Ray enjoyed travel by way of camping progressing from VW campers to RV’s. Reading and collecting were his favourite hobbies.

Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication will live on. As he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him, we take solace in knowing that he is at peace and surrounded by love.

Rest in peace, Ray Cryderman. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know you.
