Leslie and I extend our most heart-felt condolences to Doreen and family. Dick was a very kind, decent and thoughtful man. He gave generously of his time and was a solid neighbour to my parents. Dick will be greatly missed.

I would like to offer Doreen and family my most profound condolences and offer my prayers in this time of sorrow and remembrance. I first met Dick and Doreen in the mid-80's while I served at Portage la Prairie, MB with the RCMP. Being an ex-Cadet of the Royal Military College of Canada, I belonged to the alumni, and connected with the Manitoba Branch, then chaired by the late Allen Kear. We often met at the Faculty Lounge of the University of Manitoba; shared a meal and numerous stories. I became President of the MB Branch in FEB 2004 and remained in that role until late SEP 2017. Over the many years, Dick supported by Doreen was a constant presence and supporter of the Manitoba RMC alumni. Dick always demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment toward the projects, activities, events and gatherings. Dick and Doreen were both gracious and friendly; always taking time to greet and speak with alumni members, spouses and guests. I am forever grateful for Dick's support, encouragement and friendly disposition. He will be sorely missed. Unfortunately, I will be travelling to Europe in September and unable to attend the service. I leave you with the following quote: "I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of Richard (Dick), and the solemn pride that must be yours. Most respectfully.... No 12059 Jacques J. Gagne, past President of Manitoba Branch, Royal Military Colleges Club of Canada.
