Dad is survived by his son Richard J. Graham (Arlene); daughter Elaine Heinl (Paul); grandchildren Richard A. Graham (Lucette), Steven Graham (Brandi), Lloyd Smith, Ian Heinl (Ashley), Erin Bayani (Rodney); great-grandchildren Keegan, Hailey, Kyle, Shannon, Jasmin, Jillian, Raven, Madison, Evan, Oliver, Alexis and Lucas, and great-great-grandchild, Wesley. After 66 years of marriage he was predeceased by his loving wife Sue on August 28, 2011; parents Richard and Florence Graham; brothers He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Florence Graham; brothers Pete and Tom; sisters Frances, Edith, Joan, Dorothy and Grace; great-granddaughter, Lilly Bayani, and granddaughter Arlene Smith. At 17 years of age, Dad signed up with the 1st Royal Canadian Regiment, was deployed to North Africa, Sicily, and then wounded in Italy in 1943. While convalescing in England, he met our mother, Josephine Graham whom he promptly named Susie. They married in England and Dad brought his beautiful English war bride home to London, Ontario. He joined the London City Police in late 1945 and retired in 1978 when he and mom moved to Beausejour, Manitoba to be close to their children. Dad then worked for Russell Funeral Home for many years. He went on many fishing and hunting trips with his son and son-in-law. Camping was a favourite pastime for Mom and Dad. Many wonderful times were had with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lovingly cared for our mother for several years until her passing in August, 2011. He subsequently moved to Parkside Villa in Morris, Manitoba, where he took many road trips with family to the U.S.A., London, Ontario and rural Manitoba. Dad was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion since the end of the war and proudly wore his Legion attire for Legion dinners and Remembrance Day services. While a Policeman, he became a Shriner as well. Last December, Dad broke his hip and subsequently became a resident of the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris. We are honoured and proud to have had such a wonderful father. We could not imagine a better example of a father. On Saturday, October 4, 2014, a Celebration of Dad’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #111, 161 Charles Street West, Morris, MB, at 3:30 p.m. We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Schmidt, Dr. Fraser, homecare workers, nurses at the Morris Hospital, staff at the Red River Valley Lodge and the Morris Ambulance Service.
